Description

Lovely work depicting walkers on a rainy evening on a city street. The piece has movement and, despite the dark colors, has energy! The piece is signed on the stretcher, “Albert Heckman”. Albert William Heckman (1893-1971) was an etcher and painter who was active in Woodstock, NY. His works are in many private collections including the Smithsonian. The work is unique in that the frame was painted too, suggesting an earthy, folk-like feeling that draws one’s eye into the scene he has depicted.
